On October 26, we especially remember that, apart from LGBT people, there are also people representing other letters among us! 😉 And… that’s why on Saturday we organized a joint celebration of Intersex Awareness Day for you!

At Spółdzielnia Ogniwo, there was an opportunity not only to gain a little knowledge, but also to become an ally.

Together, we watched the film “No Box for Me” (fr. “Ni d’Eve Ni d’Adam”) directed by Floriane Devigne. The documentary shows the ways in which intersex people try to build their identity, based on the stories of two people – M and Deborah. It is the latest production of this type that you will have the opportunity to see! The film premiered at last year’s Human Rights Watch Film Festival.

In addition to the film, there was also an opportunity to take some great photos with our beautiful new inter-flag!

And why this particular day? October 26 is not a random date. This day was established as Intersex Awareness Day after the first demonstration against operations performed on intersex people without their informed consent took place on this day in 1996. At the same time, this year the day coincides with the ILGA-Europe conference, where inter-activists have a voice in the activities of the LGBTQIA community.
