The Krakow Equality March will take to the streets on May 18, and according to the event organizers, the Queer May Association, it will be mysterious but also communal!

“Always on the road – toward equality and acceptance, always on the move – toward light and goodness. We will appear like a fern flower, for one ray of sunshine, on May 18. Come with us” – reads the description of the event, which appeared on social media on Sunday.

Let us remind you that after two pandemic-stricken August years, in 2022 and 2023, the Krakow Equality March will once again take place in May – as close as possible to the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia, and Interphobia, celebrated since the 1990s. May 17, commemorating the WHO’s removal of homosexuality from its list of diseases. Last year, the Queer May Festival also returned to the Krakow events calendar, bringing with it 16 diverse community events. Community and togetherness will be important this year as well, although Queer May emphasizes, as always, that there will be no shortage of fun and visible, colorful, loud events. The association encourages people to follow social media, where more information will be available soon.

The organizers also encourage you to join the event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/322342976961584

The Queer May Association was established in November 2015 and originated from the informal Organizing Committee of the Queer May Festival and Equality March, which had been operating since 2008. The organization works to combat discrimination and exclusion based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and other grounds, by organizing cultural events accessible to all and conducting educational and advocacy activities, mainly at the local level.
